Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Tacoma Public School P&C provides a friendly forum where parents, citizens and teachers can meet, exchange ideas & information, and discuss a broad range of issues.

The P & C work tirelessly to provide funds for much-needed equipment and resources. We would like to encourage all parents and community members to become a member of our P&C to participate & contribute ideas in the way our wonderful school functions.

Our school canteen is an integral part of our P&C providing snacks at recess and the option for students to order their lunch on Thursdays and Fridays.

Monthly meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 6.30pm, during school terms.  The meetings are held in the staff room where current issues are discussed and resolved.

The Annual General Meeting to elect new executives is held in March each year.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• helping in the canteen
• getting involved in the P&C
• listening to children read in the classroom
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
• helping supervise excursions.
